OH Ophelia!

Hello There,

A few summers ago, I took an introduction to photography class and for my final project I get to photograph almost anything that my little heart desire. I was so excited and I knew exactly just what I wanted to do! So I started to brainstorm and research some images online for some ideas that I can incorporate into my final project. During this time that I remember back to my high school senior English class, we get to read Hamlet and I simply just fell in love with Ophelia! to me, her character is just so hopelessly romantic and a bit dramatic but I pick drama over boring any day!

One of the iconic painting that I learned about and was obsessed with in Art History was Opheliaby John Everett Millais. There’s something about her facial expression, that near death look on her face that just pulls me in. Maybe I’m a little weird and creepy but this is too beautiful an image to not share.

I called up my friend and ask her if she would be willing to model for me for this special project and she said YES! there’s a special feelings that you get when you slowly get to see your inspirations and ideas come together and by this time, I was ecstatic! I couldn’t wait for the photoshoot and that was all I could think of for 2 painfully long weeks! So before I share with you guys my project I just want to recap on my idea on this project. It was inspired by Ophelia in Hamlet and the painting by John Everett Millais. However, I added my own twist and wanted to make it more on the fashion editorial style instead. I hope you guys like my project and thank you again so much for reading and supporting my passion.
